OK I think that's another discussion alltogether.It’s very difficult to kill and elephant I can’t think for a minute there’s a humane way to do it.
I’ve always thought that if you eat meat then you shouldn’t be fussy because no animal would ever volunteer to die for your plate but now I sit here reading that I realise I couldn’t eat elephant.
They’re too intelligent, they have self awareness and display empathy. I find those hurdles a bit much.
I love elephants. They are great animals and very intelligent.
They can also be destructive.
They are killed by poachers for their ivory and not because of their meat.
I happen to live in the small part of the world where the elephants are thriving.
Now an elephant eats up to 90 kg of greens every day and drinks 120 litres of water
And there is no unlimited land anymore.
So there's a problem. The elephants destroy the habitat of other animals.
Note that this is not the case in most countries, but something Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana struggle with.
