Plans for today (2024)

What a 💩 show day!
DH had to go do labs this morning - fasting AND a pee sample - he hates this.
We sat in the Outpatient Lab waiting room for TWO 🤬 HOURS!!
The medical profession is so sourly under-staffed, I really can't blame them.
I tried to tell DH it's best to go to that draw Lab after 12pm, better 1-2pm - but could he wait? NO!
Once his name was called I went in with, because, there were three different Doc's that had put in orders, and I knew they wouldn't see them all if not prompted (speaking from my, what is it now, almost a years experience of doing this - EVERY MONTH OR MORE), and I was right.
The phlebotomist had a really hard time getting a good vein this time, dunno why, but she said he had all "rollers", nothing was holding still. So she had to stick him in the wrist, not my favorite ...
But we got'er done.
PHEW!

DH's poor eye is just not healing the way that it should... Doc wanted to see him this afternoon.
So we had about an hour and a half to kill between.
Poor Dear had not had even a cup of coffee, let alone any food.
We started up the road and he saw a buffet, let's go.
Okay.
Not good ... more info on that in the other thread ...
We finally made it home after the Eye Doc, who by the way had told him what I had suspected. If does not clear up on it's on, he'll need to go to a specialist to have it taken care of... he was not happy.
I got him TWO cups of full strength coffee (he's suppose to stick to the decaf, but that wasn't gonna happen today) and he fell promptly to sleep in his recliner watching Baseball.
🥴
My poor Dear.

My poor Dear.
Not a fun day out by any stretch!
Not even an opportunity to turn it around by doing something nice after the appt 😑
Hope his eye heals up soon 🤞

Finally woke up in my own bed and very nice that is too!
Last couple of days were hard going, you reach a point (especially on the last day where the mountain weather high up is unpleasant) where you have just had enough of unpacking and repacking your things every day.
The bay of biscay lived up to its reputation and it was a very choppy crossing 🌊 🤢

So plans for today are go and see the Tiny Thai Terror for a massage battering and maybe go to Bristol to look at a new motorbike.
Plans today are super flexoble, if sitting down drinking tea wins out so be it!

I have just finished my statutory 2 buckets of tea, so now I can get on with the rest of the day!
Plans include getting some cheese to take back to Caracas tomorrow - at 6am. I also need to work out where we're going to eat this evening, check the weight of my suitcase (since Mrs KKA was filling it with her hoarded stuff yesterday :hyper:) and enjoy my last day in the UK , which will be COOOOLLLLLDDDD!! (Currently 7C).

Got a ridiculous amount done even though I’m dog tired today and now I can’t sleep because I went to look at a completely different bike but while I was there spied this beauty.

I rang my Pa to ask his advice and he who is known for being sensible with his money said “Buy it, I’d buy it, hmm definitely buy it”
I left without buying it because they offered a ridiculously low price for the part-ex I want to trade in but the shenanigans aren’t over yet 🤞

Then later he text saying would I like to go halves on it?
I’ll be honest the thought of co-owning a motorbike with my Pa makes me rather happy.
Share the joy.
