I have had pomegranate when eating out, but I've never bought one. Some brief research tells me they are a superfood, so I expect this won't be the last time. So thank you @flyinglentris for your challenge.

This morning I bought a pack of 2 pomegranates from the supermarket (label said they came from Turkey).

When I cut one open to get the 'jewels' out, I wasn't quite as prepared as I should have been for the stunning splash of juice, I keep finding another red spot to wipe!
I cut it into quarters and used a teaspoon to scoop out the seeds quite easily.

What I made today , to follow.....

I've got some similar ones - silicon. They were surprising low price from Amazon - really only a few pounds. Can you get them from US Amazon?

I hope you saved or used the juice - its beautiful.

I haven't used it all and there is some in the dish, next time I will try to cut it over the dish! I wasn't sure how tough the outside skin would be to cut into, so used a chopping board.

I bought this the other day - its a pomegranate de-seeder. I haven't yet tried it. I'm sure its a total waste of money but it only cost £3.50.
