chickpea/garbanzo/gram/chana
Chickpeas are high in protein and are a key ingredient in hummus/chana masala, and ground in falafel.
The chickpea or chick pea (Cicer arietinum) is an annual legume of the family Fabaceae, subfamily Faboideae. Its different types are variously known as gram or Bengal gram, garbanzo or garbanzo bean, Egyptianpea, chana, and chole. Chickpea seeds are high in protein. Chickpea is a key ingredient in hummus and chana masala, and it can be ground into flour to make falafel. It is also used in salads, soups and stews, curry and other meal products like channa. The chickpea is important in both Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine.
This sandwich is a nice vegan option. Chickpea sandwiches are pretty common vegan options, but this one is mayo-free so if you don’t want to be fussing about trying to find or make vegan mayo, it’s a good choice. Adapted from Rainbow Plant Life.

Pasta e Ceci, depending on how much water is used, is more like a thick pasta soup with chickpeas, is a classic filling and nutritious primo piatto made throughout Italy with a different version for each region: in some cases the chickpeas are cooked without tomato, namely ‘in bianco’, sometimes...
Delicious creamy, healthy, rich stew, inspired by an old Croatian recipe named 'Ričet'. Originally the Ričet contains barley and beans. I added Millet and Chickpeas because I needed to use it, and love it. This stew is vegetarian/vegan, but you may add prosciutto, bacon, sausages, even meat if...
