Recipe Cauliflower Steak with Cheddar Cheese sauce

Ingredients:
  • 1 head cauliflower
Marinate Mixture
  • 1/2 cup - Vegetable Broth
  • 1/4 cup - A-1 Steak sauce
  • 1 Tbsp - Olive Oil
  • 1 Tbsp - Balsamic vinegar
Breading Mix
  • 1/4 cup - Breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup - Hemp Hearts
  • 1 Tbsp - Almond Flour
  • 1 Tbsp - Flaxseed
  • 1 Tsp - Onion Powder
  • 1 Tsp - Garlic Powder
Cheese Sauce
  • 1 pkg Daiya Vegan Cheddar Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Vegan Goat Cheese
Method
  1. Cut cauliflower into steak patties
  2. Place in marinate sauce. Let cauliflower marinate for 30 minutes each side
  3. Bread cauliflower steaks on both sides
  4. Cook steaks in Air fryer - 15 min at 350 each side
  5. Mix cheeses together and place on low heat
  6. Coat heated steaks with cheese sauce. Serve hot.

Zowie… This looks amazing! As you said in the recipe challenge thread, it’s easy to forget this is vegan. I’m going to definitely copy this, even if it means using regular cheddar.

Yes, I had the same thought of doing a version with dairy cheddar. It would still be vegetarian, just not vegan.

Thanks for the Thumbs up. Vegans often look for sources of protein. Amazingly, "Hemp Hearts" are quite a good source of protein. And the Flaxseed is a good source of Fiber. I have a feeling I may have stumbled upon a really good breading mix. Protein + Fiber. I will have to try it in a few other recipe ideas.
