Crab Masala is a Easy to make Curry Dish that can be prepared in Quick time with regular Ingredients. This Recipe will be useful for Bachelors & people who are staying away from home. Crab Curry might get Quite hot, reduce the amount of chilli powder and Pepper if you do not want it too spicy. I have used 1/2 Cup of water for the gravy. To lighten it, you can reduce the amount of water.
This South Indian Style Crab Curry is so aromatic and flavorful with the spices and herbs that makes the Crab Meat Juicy and wonderfully delicious. Crab Masala is best served with plain steamed rice, Naan (Indian Flatbread), Paratha and Chapathi.
Ingredients:
1. Crab - 1 kg (cleaned)
2. Oil - 5 tablespoon
3. Cinnamon - 3 sticks
4. Cardamom - 3 pods
5. Cloves - 2
6. Onion -2 nos. Thinly Sliced
7. Tomato - 2 nos. Finely Chopped
8. Green Chilli - 3 nos.
9. Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
10. Chilli Powder - 1 & 1/2 tbsp
11. Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
12. Garam Masala - 1 tsp
13. Pepper Powder - 1/4 tsp
14. Water - 1/2 Cup
15. Salt as required
Method:
Step 1. Heat 5 tablespoon oil in a saucepan/Cooking vessel.
Step 2. Add Cinnamon (3 sticks), Cardamom (3 pods), cloves (2) and Saute for 10 seconds.
Step 3. Add 2 Thinly sliced onions and saute until the onions are translucent.
Step 4. Add 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste & saute till raw smell goes.
Step 5. Add 2 finely chopped tomatoes and saute until the tomato turns mushy
Step 6. Add 1/4 tea spoon Turmeric Powder
Step 7. Add 1 & 1/2 tablespoon red Chilli Powder
Step 8. Add 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
Step 9. Add salt as required and Saute for a minute.
Step 10. Add 1 kg Crab & Mix the Masala (sauce) over the crab to coat.
Step 11. Add 1/2 Cup water
Step 12. Cover the lid and Cook for 15 to 20 minutes on Medium Flame.
Step 13. Finally add 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder & Mix well.
