Recipe Honey Chicken Bok Choy Won Ton Soup

Honey Chicken Bok Choy Won Ton Soup:

Ingredients:

1) Chicken half breast, divided - 1
2) Bacon - 2 slices
3) Cabbage - 1 thin slice for about 1/8 cup
4) Onion, pearl, small - 3
5) Bok choy, baby, divided - 1
6) Mushroom, crimini, brown - 3 to 4
7) Carrots, baby - 8 to 10
8) Scallion - 1
9) Chicken Better Than Bouillon - 1 tspn.
10) Won Ton Wrappers - 10
11) Soy sauce, divided, 2 tspns.
12) Honey, divided - 4 tblspns.
13) Garlic, crushed - 1 tblspn.

NOTE: If crushed garlic is not available, crush up 2 to 3 garlic cloves.

14) Anise - 1 tspn.
15) Red pepper - 1 tspn.
16) Water - as desired


Procedure:

-- Preparation --

1) Cook the chicken half breast.
2) Chop up the chicken into 1/4 to 1/2" Pieces.
3) Fry the bacon.
4) Chop up the bacon into fine pieces.
5) Slice the pearl onion crosswise.
6) Cut the root end off the bok choy and wash away any soil or dirt.

-- Won Ton Dumplings --

7) Use 1/8 cup of the chicken pieces and chop or shred more finely.
8) Fine chop the cabbage.
9) Chop up the carrot into fine pieces.
10) Cut up the scallion, crosswise.
11) Combine and mix the chicken, cabbage, carrot and scallion.
12) Steam all ingredients till soft.
13) Mix in 2 tblspns. honey.
14) Lay out a won ton wrapper and wet its surface.
15) Spoon into its middle, the filling mixture.
16) Fold and pinch up the won ton wrapper sides to form the dumpling.
17) Repeat steps 14 to 16 for each won ton dumpling.

-- Soup --

18) Pull the bok choy leaves apart.
19) In a pot, combine the remaining chicken, bacon and bok choy.
20) Cover with water.
21) Heat to 240F and cook.
22) Add in the mushroom, onion, garlic, BTB, anise and red pepper.
23) Cover with water and continue to heat and cook.
24) Add in 2 tblspns. honey and mix.
25) Increase the water level and heat while stirring.
25) Add in the won ton dumplings.
26) Continue heating until the won ton dumplings appear cooked.
27) Ladle into soup bowls.
28) Serve.

Yes. It's my first attempt. I was looking for rice papers to make spring rolls, but could only find the wheat won ton papers, so I got those and decided to make this soup.
 
I'd eat that. Not like it matters since I am not the judge, but if I had a choice between that and the spring rolls, I would choose your won ton soup. You can go light on the anise in mine, please :laugh:
