I was once an unadventurous vegetarian, until I discovered Smirnoff....
Oysters.

On that note I'm going to order some right now!

Its a French porcelain oyster plate - 4 of which I bought around 10 years ago.

Those look very nice. Rather small, but very clean color. Texas/Louisiana oysters are large, and taste good, but have a grey color to the shells, due to the Mississippi River silt on the Gulf Coast waters. It does the same thing to our shrimp.

Appalachicola Bay oysters have the same color as Texas Louisiana oysters. Big and flavorful though!

I treat myself to bluff oysters 2 or 3 times a year. Big juicy fat ones fried in batter.

My favorite preparation is grill oysters, cooked over a charcoal grill with onions and butter, and more butter while they cook. Grated parm on top. Served with crusty bread to sop up the juices.

I've had them thsy way as well. Raw dipped in malt vinegar and pepper are amazing as well

Rather small, but very clean color.

I'll measure the ones I have today. I'd say they were around medium sized for UK oysters.

This is an Oyster Po Boy, from my visit to Bourbon Street in New Orleans. When you deep fry anything, it becomes delicious. On this plate, I'd say the raw onions are more adventurous than the deep fried oyster nuggets.

i cooked the testicles from our deer one year. First; I wasn’t comfortable with how easy they are to remove….

they actually taste pretty good. The mental hurdle was more difficult to manage.

Nope. Absolutely not. Not because I wouldn't like the taste. I'd simply be too scared of dying.
