How is the corona virus affecting you?

The delivery estimate was supposed to be the 25th, but we just had this delivered. Why do I feel like I just had a shipment of gold delivered to my front door?
We had an important box delivered, too. It contained beer. Not that we knew about it until I fell over it on the doorstep. The courier dumped it and ran away without ringing the doorbell or giving us any indication he was coming. Sign of things to come?

This evening we've just been discussing essential supplies for the next few weeks.....We've come to the conclusion that we're fine for food, but are running a bit low on wine (don't really want to drink the special stuff!).

Currently trying to think of the easiest way to stock up without having to queue for hours with people who just want toilet rolls! lol

You guys don't have just liquor stores? Even the tiny little, 1 traffic light town my dad lived in had its own liquor store, albeit it didn't have much of a selection and was a bit expensive.

My youngest son who relies on a part-time job to pay his rent (he is at university) has been laid off. Its a big brand company that sells shoes - no plans for it to open again in the foreseeable future. Its likely he will end up moving back here which neither he nor I would want.

I fully expect youngest daughter & her partner to end up in the same boat. I could have a lot of people living here soon.

I guess it's what we do as parents, I've had both our kids (40and 44) still call them kids at various times and lengths, after earthquakes had daughter and partner and two cats here for 6 months. Cats ripped every curtain downstairs. I was gonna bang them on the head but wife said no. These cats cost us a few grand in replacing furniture as well. I love cats, but cats out of control??

Daughte and her son here since November hip replacement. She's now looking for a place now she's back at work. Mr7 a pleasure to have here, he's very funny.

morning glory just chill if you have a house full. It might be only a month or so,lol.

Years ago you'd find an Off Licence in most towns but they've mostly either gone bust or developed into mini supermarkets - I guess they couldn't compete with the supermarkets. There may be a few still around in some towns, but not around here :( We do have a Majestic wine warehouse in town - they tend to be fairly pricey, but needs must as they say.

Hi

I stocked up somewhat and bought a few kilos of dry beans and pulses from a local Arabic store and you would be amazed how far a handful of beans goes when wanting to make a chilli or a curry. Also did a corned beef and potato pie other day, cost about a €1.50 to make and the whole thing was gobbled up by two hungy teens and myself.

Ciao a tutti,
I just speak with Luca, Napoli in uproar. A man sister die she lay dead in bed for 36 hour no one come for her!!! He made beg on facebook, then local funeral home come get her!! Mio Dio you see her dead behind him!!!
So is in Napoli now, as I think it was any way. System is collapsed, what people to do with the dead? My son no sure if true. But was report 7 News on 03/11/2020.

Coronavirus Italy: Family trapped in house with infected body for 36 hours in Naples.

Report say -
The brother of a woman infected with COVID-19 says the family was forced to keep her body in the house for more than 36 hours because funeral services refused to collect her.
It was only when Luca Franzese made an impassioned plea in a video on Facebook - with his sister Teresa’s body visible in the background - that a local funeral home came to the family’s aid.

By way this not my son Luca he name is Kerr no Franzese and sister Maria in London.

That two cases of wine we bought a couple of months ago is proving a wise investment. :)

I got an email last night from one of the live theaters we frequent. Obviously, no more stage shows for the near future, so they're doing a cool thing - they film each piece they stage, just for historical purposes, and they're going to make those available via streaming, so folks like us, who love going to plays, can still enjoy them while at home.

We'll definitely be taking advantage of that.

Also going to the vet today, to pick up some vitamins for the dog. Vet is doing curbside only - I have to call them from the car, tell them what I want, then they run it out, take my credit card, run back in, scan it, then bring it back out to me. Long process.

Just seen this what selfish woman!!!
