I'm sure we have all had them or still have them. I think I probably have rather a lot. Example: I bought a specialist syphon for making foams several years ago. I've made several foams since I bought it but used a stick blender instead. Why? Its easier than loading the syphon!

Tell us about your never used or almost never used items.

I've got to much of useless stuff, but whenever I think about throwing them away, I start to imagine what kind of cool stuff I could cook with it... and then I keep it. Waffle maker, a peeler that can shape a carrot into a pen, deep-fryer, nicer dicer, some pans and pots, a baking mat with measuring lines for cakes

I have very few kitchen "gadgets", actually none, come to think about it. My least used kitchenware item is a dedicated fish cooker/steamer that I haven't used in years.

I have a food drying oven I use once in a while when I get the spirit, and then forget about for months. Otherwise I can't think of much except my cookie cutters and chocolate molds which I also use very infrequently.

I have two kitchen drawers with "stuff" in them and you really made me think, what do I have that I've never used?
A Flavor Injector and a Melon Baller ... I can't remember why I even bought them nor when :scratchhead:

That melon baller is something I use a lot - to scoop out avocado into pretty balls to add to salads for example, like this:

I also have the injector and used it once. Lets just say, it was a stupid idea to inject ghee into a turkey!

I left the dust on it so you can see I wasn’t lying about not using it:

At this point, I don’t even know how it works. I think water goes in the bottom piece, and it sits in a saucepan over some more water, like a steamer basket.

Ah - I used to have one like that years ago although mine went directly on the hob. Ideally, you need a lid, too. Yes the water goes in the bottom. The issue here is that you would probably find the eggs stick. You need to butter/grease the little cups.

I have a funky saucepan insert for poaching eggs. I’ve owned it nearly 30 years and have never used it.

My mom had one that she used all the time when I was a kid. It would do five eggs, IIRC. I have no idea what happened to it. It wasn't there when I cleaned out their kitchen in November.

I haven't used THIS yet. Don't know why, but just haven't used it yet. Maybe because I've been buying pasta. :whistling:
