Sandwiches

That’s not for me.
I wouldn’t say no if someone made it for me but his bacon is soggy looking, he doesn’t butter the bread (which is cut too thick) and the skins on the tomato would be a horrible distraction rolling around your gob until you gave up n swallowed them as is.

Not for me either. I just can't do big sandwiches.

I've had Breakfast Sandwiches for as long as I've been alive.
My Father was Catholic and my Mother was Protestant.
My Mother took us to her Church every Sunday morning, while my Father stayed at home and made us all breakfast, which was scrambled eggs topped with melty cheese (Kraft Singles) all between 2 pieces of well buttered cheap White Bread toast. The side was a cut-up Apples and/or Grapes. All with a tall glass of cold Milk to wash it all down.
side note: I can remember this all the way back when I was just about 2 years old.

I have done a fire-roasted tomato aioli that was pretty awesome for sandwiches a few times. Roasting the tomatoes really brings out the flavor, then blitz with (roasted) garlic and mayonnaise (or make your own mayonnaise). Then the skins aren't bothersome and also the tomatoes don't slide out of the sandwich when you grab it to take a bite.

The whole point of a sandwich is that you can take bites of it. That thing looks as if you'd have to unhinge your jaw to get it into your mouth.
And then choke to death because you'd be unable to breathe.

I've eaten some sandwiches that were a bit of work, but I can't recall trying to eat one that measured 6" in height before. I think maybe 4" was my limit and while enjoyable, I had to use about 10 napkins to eat it.

Ah yes I love roasted and oven 'sun' dried tomatoes but there's a certain way of cooking them that either makes the skins ok or not, and the way he cooked those tomatoes for me is a big not.

I've just made a ragu and I didn't have normal tin toms so I used tinned cherry toms. I had to fish a lot of them out because they weren't skinned and that watery bag complete with chewy skin would ruin it for me.

I feel so neglected

I honestly can't remember a hot sit down breakfast being a thing at my house. Sandwich or no sandwich.
Toast, cereal... sometimes with fruit on it... that was about it. Dad was at work and my sister at school already. Even at my grandmother's house when my parents were on vacation and I stayed with her and my aunt. It was toast and Life cereal with bananas. That's where I learned you can put out an oven fire with baking soda
Seems like every time they baked apple pies there was a fire...

Camping we always had a hot breakfast. Because that's kind of ritual thing getting up, getting the fire going and making breakfast. And once in a while a couple of us would put the bacon and the egg between the toast. But not everyone.

The breakfast sandwich eluded me until I was driving age and we'd pick some up before hitting the beach. Or on our way some where so we could easily eat in the car.

And I never saw them on a menu that wasn't lit up and sponsored by Pepsi or someone.

Maybe they just weren't popular in AO.

Nor mine. I got a choice of toast or cereal, which after the age of 5 I made myself. The exception was weekends when dad would make pancakes, sausage, bacon, and eggs, or at grandma's house, who lived in Texas, so the 2x a year I saw her she made hot breakfasts. And breakfast sandwiches were not a thing back then.

Edited to add: you got fruit on your cereal? Lucky you!

Ya'll have seen these before. I do these shops about 1-2x a month where I get my sub reimbursed. I'd never buy one of these on my own dime. Quite delicious though.
