Thin sliced onions is another variety I sometimes make.

I read roast beef, pickled banana.. and immediately imagined that combo. Still feel a bit off colour now

I am craving a grilled ham (or taylor ham pork roll) and Swiss cheese (or American cheese) sandwich. Maybe tomorrow for breakfast or brunch. On either white or rye bread.

I haven't used my pie iron in years. And I even bought a new one a couple years ago (compact model from Japan) when I was building a lunchbox cook kit. I need to break that out now that the weather is cooling off.

I might try out your ingredients. Bacon and capers sounds interesting.
What kind of cheese did you use?

So I don't know why I wrote bacon...
It was salami

I normally use the local processed goida or cheddar.

I just saw a commercial for pop tarts (toaster pastries) where the kid put ice cream in between two of them.

That could work. But Pop Tarts are pretty flimsy.
I would know. I just finished off my last ones last week
Strawberry of course. No icing. Brings back memories.
