They have beautiful canopy roads here.

They do that here, sometimes.

I turned off the Amber alerts (missing child), and just have the severe weather alerts turned on. If you are in a crowded place when an Amber alert is sent (which happens regularly), you'll hear dozens of phones screeching all at once.

A good idea I suppose just something completely new to us.

We've had those for a few years here in Ontario. I like when it goes off in the middle of the night...I suppose if it helps, I can put up with it, but it is usually some pissed off parent who didn't drop the kids off after they had them for the weekend..about 500 miles away...

He's trying to make it more difficult since majority of people who use mail in are Democrats.
I´ve just had some news from Venezuela. In order to obtain a passport, or a National Identity Card, it is now a requisite to provide evidence of where, exactly, one was born. This means physical evidence from the hospital where one was born...
There are presidential elections coming at the end of 2024, so evidently, this is yet another "socialist" bureaucratic move to make it impossible for most people to vote.

Amber alerts here are usually irrelevant to most people. They will do an alert here for a missing child in Houston, 250 miles away. Sometimes even farther away than that.

Severe weather alerts are much more targeted.

caseydog Hope your medical situation improves!

I'm taking prednisone now, and it is starting to work. They took x-rays so they can satisfy my insurance company to refer me to a specialist to find out WHY this happens to me -- beyond just being old.

Anyway, I should be feeling a lot better in the next couple of days.

Well, the back was doing better and better. I went for a 20 minute walk yesterday and today, and was feeling pretty good. I got home, went to the kitchen to cook dinner, and out of nowhere, it felt like someone stabbed me in the back with a red-hot knife.

It was after doctor's hours, of course, so I'll just have to live with the pain until morning.
