It is easier than you think. Around here we plant it in the fall and cover it with hay or leaves. It starts to come up in April and is ready to pull in late July. Then, we save enough to plant again.I need to try garlic

Hard neck garlic need to be planted in the fall. The spring soft neck can be planted in the spring like onions. I suppose you would just have to give it a try. But, it's just like anything else. No special requirements. If onions can grow garlic should be able to.I grow onions quite succssfully.

That's what I do too. Plant on Halloween and it's ready May/June. Usually starts coming up by December and grows through the winter and really takes off in the spring.It is easier than you think. That's me as well. I planted some garlic in April, so I'm going to give it about 5-6 months and then pull ot, see what happened.More like
