Well, the temperature dropped enough after sunset to fire up the Weber Kettle, and smoke some chicken thighs with charcoal and hickory wood. Oak and hickory are pretty much Texas standard smoking woods. I finished the chicken with some Stubbs Heat and Sweet BBQ sauce. I tossed an ear of corn lubed with OO, and seasoned with salt and pepper on the grill side near the end. I even found the energy to take a picture.

You need to try sucklebusters peach sauce,it really is good. Just saaaaying. :)

Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and parsnip croquettes, with a French onion gravy - basically French onion soup, strained and thickened.

The meat looks overcooked, but it wasn't. After searing, the joint was cooked for just 30 mins in a moderate oven, before being rested with an internal temp of 45 deg C. It probably rose to around 50 deg C after resting, so still well within 'rare' territory.
