Veal in a red wine sauce....outstanding

Oooh, I like monkfish. Very robust fish that pairs up with stronger flavours well. Used to use it as a kind of scampi years ago but then the trendy chefs found it and the price rocketed.

I like monkfish but yes the price nowadays is silly
 
Yes it is pricey - but because its such a meaty fish, a little goes further. I could easily turn this amount into a dish for two if I added other things:

I am currently paying the equivalent of about £18.00/kg for haddock fillets and £10.50/kg for cod fillets (400 - 700 gm size). Although how much they will be next week is difficult to envisage. Shark fillet is £6.00/kg, halibut £9.00/kg, pollack £6.50/kg and pangasius £2.50/kg.
