What did you cook or eat today: July 2025

That's a given! Also spinach, gruyere, and sliced tomato.
I need to make some mayo...

I really fancied a burger, so my son took me to a local Irish pub. I had "The kitchen sink burger" and middle son had the "bangers & mash"
When the plates arrived:

I had to order another pint of guiness, but even that wouldn't help the monster down. Every time I cut into it ( because there's no way I'd have got that in my mouth), there was another layer: cheese, coleslaw, avocado, jalapeños, coleslaw, onions, tomato, lettuce. Divine, but I only managed about half of it.
The Bangers & Mash got devoured, but I think it was lacking more mash and gravy.

Pressure cooked lamb ribs (crisped up under the grill) and they just melted in the mouth! With a side of mashed potatoes and a boat load of petit pois!

Oh and some gravy made from stock, the juices from the lamb and some diced onion with a sprinkling of chopped mint.

Did you post the lamb and gravy recipes in the lamb challenge? If you haven't pretty please post it.
It sounds and looks wonderful, and I have a pressure cooker. Never thought to use it for lamb.

Nothing fancy but creme fraiche is stupid pricey. No way I'm paying $128'ish/gallon...

I bought a pint of heavy cream, $5.49, and after warming it up stirred in a huge blob of yogurt and wrapped it in a towel overnight on the counter. You can kind of see where the spoon went in, nice and thick.
👍

Went to the grocery and BJ's, a Costco/Sam's club type place, then picked up a couple of pizzas from our favorite pizza place, a Margherita with garlic for me, and a meatball and sausage for Craig. Got caught in a torrential downpour at the grocery, then on and off downpours on the way to other places. At least it was just sprinkling when we got home. That's going to be our weather for the next few days.

I was going to stop at the place where I could get some lamb, but not in this weather. The regular grocery only had 1 pound of ground lamb and I needed 2, plus the regular grocery doesn't have speciality cuts now.
