I also get a lot of my eggs there. All done on the honor system, as far as paying goes.

This train runs each Sunday in the summer. It starts from Linlithgow, then makes its way down the Fife coast, across the Forth Rail Bridge onto Edinburgh, then down into the Scottish Borders to Galashiels and Tweedbank. Passengers can spend two hours or so there before it makes its way back. We caught it on its return journey (on camera, that is).

Picked this up yesterday for the incredibly low price of $1.03US per bottle, normally $10 for a six-pack.

Appropriate because our Oktoberfest season is in full swing here. We have so many, we have to start them in August. :D

Fun fact - Sam Adams (Boston Beer Company) may be headquartered in Boston, but the owner is a locally born and bred fellow, and the majority of their beer is brewed in...Cincinnati. It's one reason I like buying their beer - it hasn't traveled far to get to the stores.

This is the oldest park in Cincinnati, Piatt Park. It runs down the middle of 8th Street for two blocks:

The symbol for Cincinnati is a flying pig. This one is called "Dream Big And Fly High" - look closely, and you can see a wee me reflected in the glass.

I like this a lot. But are they all men's hands?
No. The majority are, because they're copies of workers' hands from an historic mosaic that's at Union Terminal, but some new hands were added to bring it more up-to-date, and it's painted to mimic the look of the tiles.

Three more murals from Cincinnati.

This one is called "Cincinnati's Table," and is painted on the side of a noted French bistro. Done in partnership with the owner/chef, it's a whimsical tribute to the culinary arts (note the flying pigs!):

This one is called "Martha, The Last Passenger Pigeon," and is dedicated to Martha, the last passenger pigeon, who died at the Cincinnati Zoo in 1914 and has since become an international symbol for conservation and endangered species.

This one always makes me sad.

This one (our largest mural, I think), is titled simply "Armstrong."

Totally fab! I like the pigeon one. I didn't know about passenger pigeons.
