Cryptic food and drink

While I consider this, I was reminded earlier today of an old Nottingham brewery called Mallard. It was run by a gentleman called Phil Mallard. Comrade Mallard produced a wide range of beers, all of which had duck related names. Sadly, he packed it in a few years ago to do other things.

Fill mallard. Good concept.

I think it may be resurrected! http://www.crosskeysatupton.co.uk/fine-ales-wines/

In the meantime, here is a stupidly easy one:

Risk is inherent in bet. It could be a tough choice! (7)

I thought you supported The Arse and your other half was a makem.

Its complicated. One other half comes from Sunderland but he isn't really much into football. The other, other half (in Essex) supports Sunderland because he lived and worked there plus his mother was born there. But he also supports Arsenal! Independently of that I started fancying Arsenal because their game is so elegant. The Essex OH is something of a football expert and directed several football films back in the day including the Olympiads and World Cup. Anyway. I reckon it good to support one team at the bottom and one at the top of the league!
