This evening my husband cooked paella

Sunday night's dinner was rather late - dry fried eggs with cherry tomatoes, onions and mushrooms, with chips and a chunk of bread, followed by semolina with whole almonds and honey.

Given the water chestnuts it was time for chop suey.

I went for chicken as the base and my wife (bless her - but that's another story) managed to find almost all the ingredients that we didn't have in stock, in the market (snow peas excepted).

So this is it:

Sliced chicken breast.

Chicken marinated for a couple of hours in the fridge (pureed garlic, oyster sauce, soy sauce, cornflour and salt).

Stir fried vegetables (bok choy, mushrooms, onion, bamboo shoots, capsicum, water chestnuts and garden peas)

Stir fried bean sprouts.

Stir fried chicken.

The finished product transferred to a bigger wok. I now need to find half a dozen friends to help me eat it.

I became aware during the stir frying of the marinated chicken that the aroma of garlic was very poignant. I may enter the recipe in the cookingbitesrecipechallenge tomorrow.
