Not a solution for all of them but if you pierce a Caroline reaper (or Scotch bonnet) with a sharp knife and add it to a dish whilst cooking, then remove it whole later, you will get the flavour without too much heat.
 
This may look like an old pile of leaves. But, it's what it represents that counts. It is the last task of the season for the vegetable garden. It is covering 375 cloves of freshly planted garlic cloves. I have a bit more puttering to do on nice days if I want, but It's officially done for the season.

I can promise you that wouldn't stay put where I live. Somewhere between the fact i live next to a windfarm, have wild animals that just love to dig in it and chooks whose favourite pastime is spreading neat piles of anything as far and wide as possible... then the cockatoos will come and investigate the green shoots in spring and snap every single one off at the base.

You have no idea how lucky you are!
