Wild garlic is wonderful. I think it counts as a herb and can be used in many ways.
 
My garlic I harvested three weeks ago is cured enough for storage now. I've kept it inside, out of the humidity, with a fan on it. This is far from the 50'ish bulbs I wanted but I've saved enough bulbs for around 120 plants to sow this fall.

You’re so lucky! Red-headed woodpeckers are really rare around here.

We used to have a greater spotted woodpecker who had worked out that the TV aerial on the house (in Surrey), made a fantastic resonating boom because it was attached to the vast chimney place the house had. The aerial itself was very tall to get over a ridge to get s signal. So we had a very long metal pole on a very tall chimney... far better from his point of view than any dead wood
 
(sigh) what's going on in my garden is . . . "not me"
according to dear doctor's records, in the last 5-7 years my height has "shrunk" two inches.

for 50+ years I did 1000-1500 sq ft (93-140 m2) of organic garden. ye olde back will no longer support such aspirations....
planting/weeding/maintaining such a nice garden is simply not in the spinal disc realm of 'things possible'
so I've got a couple tomato plants . . .

our youngest used to come by and help with the weeding/maintenance. she's now far away - but still has the gardening bug.
had a 12x30 hobby greenhouse - great stuff - should never ever have moved/sold it. flowers and starts by the bunches....

now I'm a big buyer at our local produce stands - local is always best.
