What’s going on in your garden (2025)?

I weeded the kitchen garden this morning and picked all the Thai chiles that were on the plants. I stuck them in the freezer.
I also culled the basil and ended up with this lot:

No way was I going to do anything with that, so I put it into a dozen bags, left a box (with the bags) in front of the neighbourhood Association hut and put a message on the neighbourhood WhatsApp post saying: If you want some, come and get it!
It's all gone, to at least it went to a good cause.

That’s great, and very thoughtful. I’ve damn near begged my neighbors to take the excess from my herb garden on many occasions, and no one wants it. Most don’t cook, and those who do just use dried herbs from the grocery store (when they use any at all). 😞

Losers.
Seriously who doesn’t take a moment to find the joy in life?!

Well, I do take a little pride in always trying to see the sunny side of things, so when I trim back the herbs and have to leave some scattered about, I look forward to mowing over the trimmings because it smells really good! 😃

I get my dogs running through the mint then basil, then scratching themselves on the lemongrass and chase a gecko into the galangal
It's a smell a minute :)

Me too. Joy is all about perspective.
