Pork tenderloin sliced and pounded into cutlets, then breaded and fried in a mix of butter and oil, drippings used to make gravy, mashies and country green beans. Not fancy, but good.

Pork schnitzel, my tea yesterday, and lunch today. Now I am returned from Dusseldorf I hope to not see any more for a while, they are obsessed with the stuff over there.

Be honest: Jackson Pollock nightmare? Artistic presentation? Or, am I just a slob?

This is an interesting hotdog I’m eating now. I didn’t have any onions, or chili, so making a Coney dog was out. So, I reached in the refrigerator for some other pickle thing, and came out with kimchi. Since I always like mustard on my hotdog, I decided to go with Chinese mustard. I hope the two nations can get along long enough for me to enjoy this hot dog.

And, they do. The Chinese elements work well with the Korean elements, which also work well with the German frankfurter. I also added pickled ginger, which some cultures have, but which the Japanese particularly like to go with sushi.

Then, there is the bread, which is from…everywhere. Every culture loves their bread.

If all the culturally different elements of an amazing hot dog can get along and make something beautiful, why can’t we?

That’s right. Wisdom from a hotdog. This hotdog is that good.

It's that time of year again! These are Dutch doughnuts called 'oliebollen' that are seasonal only at the end of November and the whole of December. They are made a with a beer batter and are available plain or with raisins. The raisin one is my favorite 😄 traditionally they are eaten at 00.00 on New Year's eve.

For MypinchofItaly:

"Cracker Sausage is one of newest and best selling products. Cracker sausage is the perfect snack. This all pork snack comes made with cheese so all you have to do is provide the cracker. The secret spices make the sausage sweet but a mild pepper cheese gives it spicy kick. This is a must try! Seriously it’s that good! (Sold by one-link unit, 1.25 lb)"

That's from the butcher's website (Wilson's).

Who knows if I find it in Italy....

This is why I want to be retired now. When I'm retired, I'm loading up my suitcase with food items I can get here that people can't get where they're at, and delivering them, sort of like a Foodie Claus. :)

Dear Foodie Claus,
for Xmas this year I'd like to have a pasta maker. Your reindeer, Cracker and Sausage, told me you have one you don't use .... :whistling:

Dear Little Pinch,

I bring only food items from that exotic, mystical land know as Ohio (and maybe Kentucky and Indiana since my kitchen in the Midwest Pole is located near those places as well).

For you...you shall receive cracker sausage, farmer's cheese, and a local wine from Valley Vineyards, to make a nice snack for you, should I ever visit your house.

You'll need to provide your own crackers, though. Foodie Claus doesn't want to spoil you, little one!

I'll say farewell with my signature "Yum! Yum! Yum!" - what, you certainly weren't expecting ho ho ho, were you? :)
