What did you cook or eat today (June 2019)?

Saturday night was pizza night! Mine part had onions, cheese, green pepper, tomatoes, and carrot on, with oregano. The dog's bit was identical except for the onion.

Salmon with new potatoes and asparagus for lunch. Basa fillets in tempura batter with chips and home made tartar sauce for supper.

Sausage roll with roast spuds and Bisto gravy.

Excellent! Winter comfort food at its best. How do you cook them?

I seal the shanks on a flat grill and season with salt and pepper.

mirepoix on the base of a Bain Marie with rosemary.

Fill the tray with half water and Napoli (you can do a gravy version of this aswell)

Braise for up to 4 hours covered with aluminium foil until the meat is falling off the bone.

I like to serve it with mash potatoes.

I love how my grandys love garlic butter, I never had it til in my 20s. I make my own using store bought butter garlic from a friend who grows it, evoo and parsley. Voila. I use frozen garlic as it keeps in the butter for weeks. Fresh garlic makes butter rancid pretty quick.
