What would you choose?

Wow - Silverton! That's like 10 minutes away from my son's house. That's also the little town where there's a doughnut shop, all hand made. Best doughnuts I've ever tasted!
I'd probably go for the Silverton Burger. Keep it simple - it's really hard to screw up a burger. A pizza, on the other hand, in Uncle Billy's Silverton Dive? I don't think so.

I read just this morning that Krispy Kreme opened a donut shop in Paris, and people there are going crazy for them. Paris, France! Go figure that. :scratchhead:

There is a Krispy Kreme near my house, and I gotta' say, a fresh glazed KK donut, right out of the oven, is an amazing thing. When you see this neon sign lit up, the drive thru fills up with police cars.:laugh:

TastyReuben I've never had poutine, but I have had brown gravy sneak over to my Fries before. I like my Fries/Chips very crisp with a side of Mayo for dunking, but a side of Brown Gravy for dunking would be just as nice I think!
HMMM 🤔 I may have to try that at home ...

In Hawaii, there's a slogan for this long standing drive in, "gravy all over", that means all over your ENTIRE plate of a choice of protein, rice and mac salad... YUM!!!

They've even put out tee-shirts with that slogan on it ... I WANT ONE!

I'd heard loads of good reports on Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Don't exist in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Venezuela.
However, last time in Cinci, My DIL brought some home for my son at Xmas.
I have to say, the very thought of something deep-fried, sweet, covered in chocolate/cream/icing/sugary sprinkles - hey? where can you go wrong?
I thought they were great... but the Silverton doughnuts were better, and I think it was the texture.
Still - I'd probably eat a doughnut if it were made in the Falkland Isles.

Most restaurants up here offer gravy for the fries for an extra charge. It is pretty much automatic that if you get fries with your meal you will be asked if you want gravy.

It's like here if you order tea... Sweet or Unsweet? (Iced is not optional unless you order hot tea, which they probably don't have).

For the meal last night, there were also off-menu selections. MrsT had one of those, 10oz filet mignon with a lobster tail. I had the Kona-crusted strip steak. We were very happy with both.

We started with an old-fashioned for me, and the blackberry sidecar for MrsT, and both were perfect. We shared the cherrywood bacon appetizer. Both the appetizer and the cocktails were comped because they sort of forgot us for a little bit. The compensation was definitely more than the slight transgression.

For sides, we had the au gratin potatoes and the asparagus. Again, both were excellent, and dessert was a fantastic coconut cream pie split between us, with coffee.

One little thing with the coffee that made me smile…she brought out the two cups before the dessert, and we’d both drunk about half each, and MrsT joked, “I wish they’d left a coffee butler on the table, I’d like to top mine off!” - funny because that’s what they do in cheap diners/greasy spoons, just leave the butler on the table for you to do your own refills.

About that time, out came the dessert, and our servers (our main waitress had her own little entourage of two helpers) immediately swept away our now nearly empty coffees and sat down two fresh cups - no pouring coffee into the same cups for us!
