What produce/ingredients did you buy or obtain today? (2018-2022)

I can buy a piece of ginger that's about the length of my middle finger, and it'll last me months!

I do use a lot of ginger. I will probably give a mate half of that though. The rest could last me 3 months.

I can buy a piece of ginger that's about the length of my middle finger, and it'll last me months!

I get through a lot - I like it sliced paper thin or in matchsticks in stir fry type dishes, also in soups and of course in curry pastes.

There was NO ginger for sale in the market on Thirstday. Luckily my wife spotted some on a roadside stall yesterday. This lot was ฿ 50.00 (about £ 1.25).

I had just enough left in the freezer for the tikka masala. I'll clean up the new stuff and chop/mince it for freezing.

I was given this yesterday to try. It was cut from a c. 2 kg joint of New Zealand aged tenderloin. It should only need 30 seconds per side.

Not blue but still pink. The steak is only around 15mm thick so it'll be done pretty quickly. I'll probably leave out the blowlamp.

I prefer rare or medium rare as per this......

Today purchase highlight is the leg and belly of a suckling pig. This is for our 21st wedding anniversary dinner on the 14 th. I put the mandarin next to it for scale. The weight is 2.25 kg.
